Star Linen Achieves EcoVadis Gold

We're proud to announce that Star Linen has been awarded an EcoVadis Gold medal, placing us in the top 5% of more than 130,000 companies assessed by EcoVadis globally (EcoVadis). It's a significant step up from the Bronze recognition we held this time last year, and it lands in our 10th year in business, a milestone we couldn't be prouder of.

EcoVadis is the world's most trusted provider of business sustainability ratings. It assesses companies across four themes: environment, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement and ranks them against every other company it has rated in the past 12 months, not just others in our sector. Gold status isn't handed out for good intentions; it requires documented policies, measurable targets and evidence of real progress across all four areas.

From Bronze to Gold in under a year

Going from Bronze to Gold is a bigger jump than it might sound. EcoVadis's own guidance notes it's typically a larger leap than moving from no rating to Bronze. For us, it reflects work that's been building for a while:

• Carbon neutral since 2023, with our footprint measured, reduced and offset every year.

• B Corp certified since 2024, with recertification documentation currently underway.

• Our Eco Range Ashton and Clevedon, turning recycled plastic bottles into hotel-grade pillows and duvets.

• The CEIC ReStart Initiative, giving old pillows, duvets, mattress toppers and mattresses a second life instead of sending them to landfill.

• An HHH Green Award in 2025 for sustainable practice across the hospitality supply chain.

As we mark ten years in business this year, this is one of the proudest milestones on that journey and we're not stopping here."

What this means for our hotel partners

For hoteliers, an EcoVadis Gold-rated supplier removes a layer of due diligence. If sustainability sits on your procurement scorecard, in your RFP process, or in your own ESG reporting up to ownership groups or guests, you can point to Star Linen as an independently verified, top 5% supplier rather than relying on our word for it. It's one less thing to chase, and one more thing you can report on with confidence.

Sustainability isn't a separate initiative at Star Linen, it's part of how we source materials, manufacture in the UK and support hotels in reducing their own footprint through longer-lasting products. Gold status is a marker of where that work has got to, not the finish line.
