Ten years of better sleep: the Star journey
This summer, Star Linen UK turns 10!
What began as a small team bringing the Star Linen USA brand to the UK hotel market has grown into a busy, sleep-obsessed business supporting hotel groups, B&Bs, guest accommodation and universities across the country. If you've ever wrestled with an uncooperative duvet or faced a last-minute group booking, you'll know why we exist: to make those moments easier for guests and housekeeping teams alike.
From first orders to hotel groups and universities
We started by getting great-quality bedding and towelling into hotel bedrooms on time, every time. A decade on, we're proud to support names like Leonardo Hotels, Village Hotels, Macdonald Hotels, YTL Hotels and Marston's, alongside independent properties, guest houses and student accommodation, including thousands of rooms prepared for Oxford and Cambridge colleges each year. Whatever the setting, the brief stays the same: help housekeeping deliver a welcoming room without adding stress behind the scenes.
Housekeeping at the heart of the story
If our first 10 years have taught us anything, it's that housekeeping teams are the unsung heroes of hospitality. We design and choose products with the people on the floor in mind, from how a duvet feels when shaken out, to how linen performs after dozens of laundry cycles. Getting there has meant listening: site visits, back-of-house walkthroughs, and hearing about stock levels, changeovers and those "can we just" calls. The best ideas often come from a housekeeper spotting the small detail that makes a big difference.
Becoming a B Corp and why it matters
One of our proudest milestones was becoming a Certified B Corp putting our whole business under the microscope, from how we treat our team to our impact on the environment and local communities, with a commitment to keep improving. For all areas of hospitality, it means working with a supplier that cares about more than just the next order. We're investing in responsible sourcing, UK manufacture where possible, circular schemes like ReStart and Avena and a Climate Action Plan to cut emissions and support your ESG goals alongside your guest scores.
What guests and customers tell us
Guests talk about comfortable pillows and rooms that feel "just right." Accommodation teams praise reliability, quick responses, and having someone who understands why a delayed delivery on a changeover day matters. Independent feedback via Feefo keeps us honest and gives us plenty of ideas for what's next.
Looking ahead
We don't plan to reinvent the wheel, just keep doing the basics brilliantly: durable, comfortable products; service that supports housekeeping rather than adding to it; and honest conversations about sustainability and climate action. The next decade is about going further, using impact reporting and B Corp standards to make sure every decision moves hospitality in the right direction.
To everyone in hospitality who has trusted our products in their rooms: thank you. Here's to many more nights, shifts and turnarounds together.
