FAQ’s

Are there hypoallergenic options for duvets?

Most of our duvets are hypoallergenic as most of our ranges are made from synthetic fibres like hollowfibre and microfibre, these fibres are less likely to gather dust mites compared to natural materials.

Which duvets are best for a sustainably-conscious establishment?

Our Eco duvet Clevedon and Ashton ranges are the best choice for the sustainably conscious. The filling is made by breaking down 100% PET plastic bottles to produce a smooth soft microfibre filling which gives the feeling very much like down but is hypoallergenic.

How does the tog rating affect the comfort of duvets?

The tog rating is the essential factor in determining the comfort and suitability of a duvet season and preferences. Most use a 10.5 tog duvet as this offers a balance of warmth and breathability so is suitable for all seasons.

Which duvets are appropriate for a luxury experience?

Most luxury establishments choose a duvet with a high thread count cotton cover, not only is this breathable but it gives a luxury finish to the duvet. A cotton cover is essential on feather duvet as it stops the filling from coming through the cover. When it comes to filling most choose a feather or microfibre filling both are gorgeously soft and will help your guests have  a fantastic night's sleep. Those who chose a feather option, have a Microfibre option for guests, as allergy sufferers will require an alternative.

What are the most durable duvets available?

Choosing a durable duvet involves considering a number of factors including fill, cover and construction type. When choosing fill type down it is known for its durability and can last a long time if cared for correctly. Microfibre or hollowfibre is quite durable and a more affordable option than natural fill. A high thread count cotton cover will make the duvet more durable and is soft for the guest. Box construction ensures that the filling remains equally distributed throughout the duvet preventing clumping or cold spots and helps maintain the duvet's shape.

What are the benefits of different duvet fillings?

Choosing the right duvet filing is essential for ensuring comfort, warmth and overall satisfaction. Here’s a guide to the most common:

  • Down - Down is excellent for trapping heat  making it ideal for colder climates. It's breathable and can regulate temperature, however people may be allergic to down.

  • Microfibre - Made from synthetic fibres, the fibres are tightly woven to create a soft, lightweight filling. Designed to mimic the soft fluffy down and provide a cosy sleep experience.

  • Hollowfibre - Hollow space between the fibres ensure this filling is breathable and means it is lightweight, these are normally the most affordable option.
Do you offer all-season duvets?

We recommend that if you want a duvet that can be used throughout the year that you choose a 10.5 tog. All our duvets have a 10.5 tog option. A 10.5 tog duvet offers a balance of warmth and breathability, making it suitable for use throughout most of the year. It's an ideal choice for people who prefer a consistent duvet rather than switching between summer and winter options. We recommend you add a blanket in the winter if your guests need more warmth.
